Well, today in class we did number of the day. Then we had to do these algabra questions when we were finished with the number of the day. These were those questions with the answers;

1.5+x=16 VERIFY
5+x-5=16-5 5+x=16
x=11 5+11=16
16=16

2.4+x=9 VERIFY
4+x-4=9-4 4+x=9
x=5 4+5=9
5=5

3.x+4=9 VERIFY
x+4-4=9-4 x+4=9
x=5 5+4=9
9=9

4.x/6=3 VERIFY
6X3=18 x/6=3
x=18 18/6=3
3=3

5.4+x=14 VERIFY
4+x-4=14-4 4+x=14
x=10 4+10=14
14=14

6.16=x+10 VERIFY
16-10=x+10-10 16=x+10
6=x 16=6+10
16=16

7.x+5=11 VERIFY
x+5-5=11-5 x+5=11
x=6 6+5=11
11=11

8.6+x=15 VERIFY
6+x-6=15-5 6+x=15
x=9 6+9=15

9.x/5=5 VERIFY
5x5=25 x/5=5

10.10+x=20 VERIFY

15.x+7=7 VERIFY

16.x+4=7 VERIFY

After we did those questions, we did some other questions, harder questions. First Mr. Isfeld wanted to show us how to answer them,

The question looked like this;
59=5x+6x+4

The first step is to, combine the 5x and 6x to get 11x then your question will now look like this,

59=11x+4

Then from there, you subtract 4 from both sides, and now it looks like this,

55=11x

Now this last part is easy;
11x/11=x
55/11=5
So x=5,

Now you verify,
59=5x+6x+4
59=5(5)+6(5)+4
59=25+30+4
59=59
